Through two-day in-depth talks and field visit, on April 10, 2017, American Kono Group and People’s Government of Xiangyin County, Yueyang, Hunan signed the Strategic Cooperation Agreement, aiming to build Dongting Lake in Xiangyin County into a 10-square-kilometer characteristic town, namely, Kono Tercel (Dongting Lake) General Aviation Cultural and Tourist Town.
According to the plan, the total investment of this project is 5 billion yuan, the total land area to be developed is 5 square kilometers, and the special water area is 5 square kilometers. The air service of the small town will be provided by over 50 most advanced Kono Tercel multipurpose helicopters and seaplanes from the United States and will be available all day long, and 8 hundred thousand aviation tourists will be received every year.
Led by the general aviation industry, being the extremely rich cultural and tourism resources of the 3,968-square meter Dongting Lake centered, dominated by air services, taking international education and training as the bridge, guaranteed by American advanced aviation technology and successful experience, and based on characteristic real estate development, Kono Tercel (Dongting Lake) General Aviation Cultural and Tourist Town will be built into the largest and comprehensive high-tech aviation town in central China, which integrates more than ten high-end functions, such as seaplane base, global aviation tour, large aeroclub, large yacht club, international central schools, etc, and has the longest industry chain and highest technological content. It is estimated that the industry scale will exceed 100 billion yuan.
As an important link of Kono Group in China’s general aviation industrial layout, Kono Tercel (Dongting Lake) General Aviation Cultural and Tourist Town will produce 12,000 private planes and realize the whole civil aviation situation of “Every household has aircraft and everyone loves flying”. The launch of this project in Luoyang will echo Kono Tercel (Ningxia) General Aviation Spa Town located at the hub of the Silk Road, and they together inject strong momentum into dozens of Kono Tercel aircraft agencies all over the country to achieve business growth, and to provide one package service of sales, trusteeship, testing, maintenance and repair of Kono Tercel multipurpose aircraft in China, thus providing reliable 24/7 technical support for the safe flight of Kono Tercel multipurpose aircraft.
It is reported that Kono Tercel (Ningxia) General Aviation Spa Town is one of several multi-functional general aviation towns planned to be invested by American Kono Group in China. The site selection and negotiation work of Kono Group in other provinces, municipalities and autonomous regions are also under way. It is foreseeable that in the near future, there will be 3 to 5 Kono Tercel general aviation towns with unique features arising in China, and in these towns, “every household has aircraft and everyone loves flying”.
