HGPY held first Flushing auction

Red quartz wild goose
The staff reporter Guo Wenyun reported in New York that the first large-scale Flushing auction, HGPY China Treasure Auction, was grandly held yesterday (Day 18th). Eight hundred pieces of collections were displayed to collectors and art enthusiasts from the East of the United States. HGPY was widely welcomed with its tenet of “seeking truth and trust and being assured and happy”. Among the treasures, the red quartz wild goose and incense Buddha from Royal Highness Duan’s Palace and the princess consort’s palace in the late Qing Dynasty were eye-catching.
Yesterday, Flushing brought together a group of collectors, artists and connoisseurs to participate in the first large-scale auction of Flushing. The auction was sponsored by HGPY NY International Auction Inc. Zhang Lifu, a Confucian businessman in charge, wrote a couplet entitled “Wishing you ladies and gentlemen good luck, delivering good luck and propitious omen to you” and presented it to the auction, hoping to contact cultural celebrities and collectors through the auction and jointly carry forward Chinese culture and art, and let the American people know, appreciate and collect Chinese treasures.
Aisin Gioro Hengyi, a descendant of the Qing Dynasty’s imperial family and a painter, appeared in the site in person. She introduced that Royal Highness Duan Aisin Gioro Zaiyi was her great-grandfather, and Duan’s second son, the last crown prince and elder bother Puqi, was her second grandfather. The pair of swan goose, namely, the large red quartz carving, is rarely seen. In the late Qing Dynasty, when Royal Highness Duan lived in Alxa’s Palace in Inner Mongolia, he often missed his relatives in the Forbidden City with Duoluoteseleng, the Alxa Prince. The pair of swan goose was designed by Duan and his second son and carved by famous craftsmen. The swan goose is a legendary migratory bird used to convey the feelings and greetings between friends and the missing of relatives in hometown. Alxa is abound in crystal, but large red quartz is extremely rare. The swan goose is an elegant collection with exquisite carving and transparent material.
Another treasure collected by the descendant of the Qing Dynasty is an incense wood Guanyin. This incense Buddha was consecrated by Boerji Jite in the Buddhist Temple, who was the big fujin of Duoluoteseleng. The Buddhist Temple solely belonged to Boerji Jite and it was said that each fujin has her own Buddhist Temple.
In terms of painting and calligraphy, there is the five-word poem of running hand written by Wang Duo in the Qing Dynasty, “甘载重集此,山泉依旧多。藤花惊硕干,潭影认孤云。炉气随人转,樵声隔涧闻。佛奴今老大,洗铮向微曛。再游岩山”. Other treasures auctioned include chimes from Spring and Autumn Period, the bronze gilding statue from Yongle period of Ming Dynasty, a pair of round-backed armchairs made of dalbergia odorifera, rosewood carved moiré pattern Ruyi from Late Qing Dynasty, rosewood cared cloud-dragon brush pen jacket, Qing Dynasty embroidery clothes, porcelain, jade ware, Chinese calligraphy and painting and miscellaneous items. The treasures will be displayed on the 2nd floor of the national treasure gallery from Day 19th to 21st. The second auction will be held on the 2nd floor of the national treasure gallery from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Day 22nd. Tel: 1(718)353-0393 Website: www.nyrfx.com.
